The EdgeServer Pro Card, which supports up to two Pentium Pro processors and one gigbyte of RAM, simplifies and enhances remote access to information and applications by providing fast throughput. When critical applications reside on the EdgeServer Pro Card, remote users can access the information they need - such as e-mail, intranets, and edge applications - as quickly as possible. Because applications reside right on the EdgeServer Pro Card, access is faster for remote users because there are no addidtional hops or bottlenecks to the information they need.

Better security. Reduced LAN access by remote users means enhanced security, too. When a corporation replicates essential data from the LAN on the EdgeServer ProCard, it can elimiate the need for LAN access by remote users, providing a more secure environment for corporate information. Reducing exposure to corporate LANs helps minimize the information security headache that remote computing could present.

Support for Windows NT-based applications, firewalls and token-based applications. EdgeServer Pro Card provides complete support for Windows NT applications such as intranet-, proxy-server- and COM-port-based applications (such as modem pooling and fax services), as well as corporate firewalls and token-based authentication applications.
