NETServer 8/16 I-modem™ Plus is a high-performance remote access server which replaces seperate terminal servers, individual analog modems or modem banks, ISDN terminal adapters and routers. NETServer I-modem Plus offers ease-of-use and deployment, optimal performance, a wide range of application and protocol support, security, scalability and manageability to make remote access as close as possible to a direct network connection.

The high-performance NETServer 8/16 I-modem Plus offers support for user-to-LAN, dial-in, dial-out, LAN-to-LAN and multi-protocol routing over both analog and ISDN phone lines. The NETServer I-modem Plus includes integrated 3Com 28.8/33.6 Kbps V.Everything® modems and adds ISDN BRI support to dynamically accommodate 8 or 16 high-speed analog or digital calls. The unique NETServer I-modem Plus design detects whether the incoming call is digital or analog and transfers it through the integrated terminal adapter or on-board modem connected to each BRI port. By sharing ports, users can eliminate dedicated analog lines and save money.

NETServer I-modem Plus also supports the new x2™ Technology as a host-end device, which allows data to be downloaded at up to 56 Kbps to an X2-enabled client device across ordinary analog telephone lines. Now even small companies can provide high-speed dial-in access to network resources and the Internet, and to branch offices and employees working at home or on the road.
