Total Control™ Remote Access Concentrator integrates
the capabilites of channel banks, DSU/CSUs, modems,
ISDN equipment, routers and terminal servers in a single
chassis. Its flexible platform allows different cards
to be added for different functionality. It provides
ISDN or analog dial access to asynchronous hosts, Frame
Relay, and Ethernet or Token Ring networks. Customers
with remote locations, telecommuters and mobile employees
use the Remote Access Concentrator to connect to a variety
of host resources, whether in a data processing centre
or on a LAN. The Remote Access Concentrator can easily
accomodate dial-in Internet and intranet access, managed
remote access, transaction processing and cellular access.
Total Network Integration. The Total Control
Remote Access Concentrator was designed to ensure no
single point of failure by using redundant power supplies
and call switching to standby modems and phone lines.
To maximize network uptime, it supports a modular architecture
based on interface and application cards which can be
inserted or removed while the chassis remains live and
on-line. The Remote Access Concentrator's integrated
components include the capabilites of channel banks
having integral DSU/CSUs; PRI signaling for connection
to ISDN; the flexibility of analog or digital modem
functionality; and terminal server and router functionality
for IP and IPX protocols and Frame Relay connections.
